HORMONE REPLACEMENT THERAPY

CONSULTATION

A thorough consultation with a healthcare provider to discuss symptoms, medical history, and wellness goals. You may discuss issues like fatigue, mood swings, hot flashes, or low libido.

TREATMENT PLAN

Personalized Treatment Plan

• Based on your blood work and symptoms, the provider creates a personalized HRT plan. This plan may involve:

• Bioidentical Hormones: Hormones that are chemically identical to those produced by the body.

• Synthetic Hormones: Man-made versions of hormones that may be used in some cases.

• The specific hormone(s) to be replaced (e.g., estrogen, progesterone, testosterone) will be determined based on your needs.

Choosing the Right Form of HRT

• Estrogen Therapy: Often prescribed for women experiencing menopause symptoms like hot flashes and night sweats. It can be given in forms such as pills, patches, creams, or vaginal rings.

• Progesterone: Typically used alongside estrogen to balance hormone levels and reduce risks like endometrial cancer in women who still have a uterus.

• Testosterone: Sometimes prescribed for both men and women to improve energy, libido, and muscle mass.

• Other Options: Topical creams, gels, or pellets (inserted under the skin) may be used for a steady hormone release.

BLOOD WORK

Blood work to assess vitamins and hormones is a crucial step in understanding your body’s unique needs. By analyzing levels of key vitamins, minerals, and hormones, such as Vitamin D, B12, thyroid hormones, and estrogen or testosterone, this testing helps create a personalized treatment plan to address imbalances, optimize health, and prevent age-related issues.

ADMINISTRATION

Depending on the type of hormone and method of administration, HRT can be:

• Oral Pills: Taken daily or as prescribed.

• Topical Creams or Gels: Applied directly to the skin.

• Patches: Placed on the skin for a slow, steady release of hormones.

• Injections: Administered periodically to replenish hormone levels.

• Pellets: Inserted under the skin and deliver hormones over several months.

Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) works by replenishing hormones that decline with age, such as estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone, to restore balance and improve overall well-being.
